Influencer Marketing Benchmarks MENA 2026: Conversion, AOV and Commission by Category

Quick answer: The five benchmarks that matter most for influencer performance marketing in MENA are conversion rate (orders per click or per 1,000 views), average order value (AOV), commission rate, validation rate (orders that survive returns and cancellations) and new customer rate. They vary a lot by category: fashion and beauty usually have higher commission and lower validation because of returns, while electronics has higher AOV and lower commission. Use the category table below as a starting point, then benchmark each creator against your own program's medians rather than global averages.
"Is 2% a good conversion rate?" We get this question every week, and the honest answer is always: for what? A 2% click-to-order rate on a AED 90 lipstick is average. On a AED 4,000 phone, it's exceptional.
Benchmarks only help when they compare like with like. This guide gives you the metrics, the formulas, and category-level ranges from the Adltix network across the GCC, so you can judge your creators fairly.
The 5 benchmarks that actually matter
| Metric | Formula | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Conversion rate | Orders ÷ clicks (links) or orders ÷ story views (codes) | How persuasive the creator is |
| Average order value (AOV) | Net revenue ÷ orders | The quality of the audience's baskets |
| Commission rate | Commission paid ÷ net revenue | Your cost of sale |
| Validation rate | Validated orders ÷ total orders | How much survives returns, cancellations and fraud |
| New customer rate | First-time buyer orders ÷ total orders | Whether the creator grows your brand |
One more that combines them: revenue per 1,000 followers. It's the fairest way to compare a 15k creator with a 900k one. See Micro vs Macro Influencers in the Gulf.

Methodology: medians across validated orders from creators in the Adltix network in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman, [ADLTIX DATA: period, e.g. January to August 2026]. Commission is shown as a percentage of net sales after VAT, returns and cancellations.
How the categories differ, and why
Fashion pays some of the highest commissions because margins allow it, but returns are common, so validation rates are lower. Always judge fashion creators on validated revenue, not placed orders.
Beauty and fragrance tends to convert well from creators, because a face and a real reaction sell the product. Repeat purchase is high, which is why new customer rate matters here: you want creators who bring new buyers, not ones who discount your loyal customers.
Electronics has high AOV and thin margins, so commission percentages are lower. A small percentage of a big basket can still pay creators well.
Marketplaces sit in the middle. Many run category-based commission, so a creator's earnings depend on what their audience ends up buying.
Country differences inside the GCC
- Saudi Arabia: the largest volume market. Industry estimates put it at around 40% of GCC influencer marketing spend. Arabic-first creators and Snapchat and TikTok dominate.
- UAE: a more mixed-language audience. English and Arabic both perform, and luxury and premium categories are stronger.
- Kuwait and Qatar: smaller audiences but often higher AOV. Snapchat is especially strong in Kuwait.
- Cash on delivery: markets with more COD usually see lower validation, because refused parcels cancel orders.
What "good" looks like for a single creator
Rather than comparing creators to global averages, compare them to your own program's median in the same category. A simple rule we use:
- Top performer: revenue per 1,000 followers at least 2x the category median, with validation at or above median.
- Solid: within 50% of the median on revenue, at or above median on validation.
- Review: high orders but low validation or very low new customer rate. This often signals code leakage (see Discount Code Leakage).
- Replace: consistently below 25% of median revenue after 60 days.
Seasonality changes every benchmark
Benchmarks from a normal week don't apply during Ramadan, White Friday or back to school. Conversion and AOV typically rise during peak seasons, and so does competition for creators' time. Compare seasonal campaigns with the same season last year, not with the month before. See Ramadan Creator Campaigns.
How to build your own benchmarks in 30 days
- Give every creator a unique code and link.
- Track orders, net revenue, validated orders and first-time buyers per creator.
- Group creators by category and follower tier.
- Calculate the median of each metric per group.
- Rank every creator against their group median, and update monthly.
Where Adltix fits

Frequently asked questions
What is a good influencer conversion rate in the GCC?
It depends on category and price. Compare each creator to the median for their category and follower tier in your own program instead of a single global number.
What commission do brands pay influencers in the Middle East?
Usually a percentage of net sales that varies by category margin. Fashion and beauty tend to pay higher percentages than electronics.
What is validation rate in influencer marketing?
The share of orders that remain after returns, cancellations and refused cash-on-delivery parcels. Commission is normally paid only on validated orders.
How should I compare small and large influencers?
Use revenue per 1,000 followers, alongside validation rate and new customer rate. It removes the size advantage and shows who actually sells.
Are influencer benchmarks different during Ramadan?
Yes. Conversion, AOV and competition for creators usually rise, so compare Ramadan results with last year's Ramadan rather than with normal months.
